Umai-bo (うまい棒)

Umai-bo. The most popular "Dagashi". This is a corn puff snack. "Umai" means yummy and "bo" means bar. At first, you'll be surprised by its price. Its only 10 yen! (≒10 cent) #without tax You can buy 28 bars by same cost as BigMac at Mcdonalds in Japan! And more incredible, There are more than 20 flavors!(include past) For example, Corn Potage, Cheeze, Pizza, Chicken Curry, Takoyaki, Chocolate, Natto, and more. Sweet, hot, salty, you can enjoy many kind of taste. Every flavors are very popular in Japan and it certainly real flavor's taste. Its also a good to buy easily. You can find it by supermarkets, or convenience stores, not only "Dagashi-Ya". Some flavors are suit for drinking alchol like beer. For your first step of "Dagashi", please try it. I recommend it!

What is "Dagashi" and "Dagashi-ya"?

"Dagashi" is the name of cheap sweets in Japan.
These are loved by mainly young children because of the price.
Cheapest one is only 10 yen (!) and most of them are 20-100 yen.
One of the Cheapest thing what is selled in Japan!

But these taste are not "cheap".

"Dagashi-ya" is a store specializing in "Dagashi"
More than 20 years ago, this kind of store is common.
But it become decrease and difficult to find in these days.
